Today we set off for Fromelles and Ypres via Messines. The bus trip was about 2 1/2 hours from Paris to Fromelles. We stopped at the small museum just in front of the Pheasant Wood Cemetery (we will be back there on Tuesday for the centenary).
We went for a walk through the Pheasant Wood Cemetery as I wanted to find the grave of Henry Cressy from Boolaroo. He is one of the soldiers who was identified by DNA in the past couple of years.

After lunch at Armentieres we stopped at some of the War Grave cemeteries around Messines where members of the tour group had relatives interred. So it was off to Strand Military Cemetery to visit my great great uncle Alf.
