Pozieres

Yesterday we travelled from Ypres to Amiens via Pozieres and Albert. Our first stop was at a Canadian memorial to the Newfoundland troops that lost their lives near Bezumont Hamel

  Our next stop was Pozieres where we visited the windmill site and saw the fantastic temporary display laid out by the Pozieres Remembered society... I finally met Von and Barry who are the driving force for the memorial park to be built on this site.

  After lunch at Tommy's Cafe at Pozieres we set off for Albert and visited a museum and the cathedral. We lit a candle for Joan....
